Long-form journalism about an industry that mostly writes about itself in press releases. Reader-funded, so the yards and brokerages we cover are not the people paying for it.

How we work
Not a banner, not a supplement, not a paid “yard profile”. It costs us most of the revenue a trade title would have and it is the only reason the reporting is worth reading.
Amendments go at the head of the piece with the date and what changed, not in a footer nobody scrolls to. We got the tonnage wrong in February and it is still there.
Anyone named gets the questions in advance and their answer runs unedited, at whatever length they send. Twice it has been longer than the article.
Investigations that affect crew safety or people's money come out from behind the paywall. Subscribers fund those pieces and then do not get to keep them.
“I have been quoted in trade magazines for twenty years and never once been sent the questions first. They sent fourteen, waited a fortnight, and printed my answer whole even though it made them look wrong.”

About this page
The business, the listings and the reviews are invented — this page exists to show what someone could put on superyacht-media.com. The domain itself is genuinely for sale.
